Photo tips
Please read this page before sending photographs for portraits.
You can send your photographs by post or email (jpeg format if possible please). If you choose to email your photos, try to crop them to enlarge as much of the subject's head and shoulders as possible and remove any excess background (see example below). This will help me to get as much detail as possible from the photograph when I print it out.
Try to capture as much detail as you can in your photograph as this will be the reference for your portrait. It also helps if the photograph is a true likeness of the subject - if the photograph doesn't do your dog justice, the portrait is unlikely to either! Don't worry though, I am always on hand to offer advice by phone or email if you have any problems.
As you can see from the above example, the subject is the focus. Details such as the eyes can be enhanced, and distracting and unattractive backgrounds can be removed, enabling the portrait to capture the essence and spirit of the subject.
